Durante su residencia de un mes en el programa
Habitantes con la compañía Nada Personal two-women-machine-show ofrece un seminario en forma
de laboratorio de 3 días. En colaboración con los participantes investigaremos
el texto y la voz como herramienta coreográfica. El foco del seminario será en
cómo podemos usar el texto como
audio integrado, una parte de la expresión corporal. Abordaremos el texto como
herramienta y no como generador principal de significado a través de la
deconstrucción de textos; editando y reciclando en combinación con adiciones
propias. Observaremos la materialidad del texto, tanto escrito como hablado.
Qué puede sumar el texto? Como comunica en escena en relación con el cuerpo
físico? Como suena? Es dicho como una interpretación o como una hoja puramente
informativa? Es cantado? Ees susurrado? Como afectan todos estos niveles
físicos a la expresión y el entendimiento de un texto dado? Como puede el
cuerpo auditivo construir nuevos curpos físicos y visceversa? Estas son
preguntas a ser investigadas durante el laboratorio. Damos la bienvenida a otras
preguntas que puedan surgir durante nuestra experiencia juntos y aquellas de
interés particular de los participantes. El laboratorio concluirá con una
muestra pública informal de la investigación artística.
During
their one month residency at Habitantes two-women-machine-show offers a 3 day laboratory-like
workshop. In collaboration with the participants we will investigate text and
voice as a choreographic tool. The focus of the workshop will be on how one can
use text as integrated audio, a part of the bodily expression. We will approach
text as a tool and not as a main generator of meaning. And we will do this
through deconstructing texts; cutting and recycling in combination with own
additions. We will look into the materiality of text, both written and spoken.
What can text add? How does it communicate on stage in relation to the physical
body? How does it sound? Is it said with interpretation or as a pure sheet of
information? Is it sung? Is it whispered? What do all these physical layers do
to the expression and understanding of a given text? How can the auditory body
build new physical bodies and vice versa? These are questions to be
investigated during this proposed laboratory. We welcome other questions that
might come up during our experience together and those of particular interest
from the participants. The lab will end in an informal public showing of the
artistic research.
two-women-machine-show is a trio between Marie-Louise Stentebjerg, Ida-Elisabeth Larsen and a
loop machine. Their work focuses mainly on how they can play with the
construction of meaning, when a presented text meets auditory or visual
disturbances on stage. During their stay in Buenos Aires the trio will work to
complete their latest production Mass Hysteria II, which deals with ‘unison’ as a symbol for both choreographic and political
tendencies.
